Paula Cizmar is an award-winning playwright and librettist whose plays include January (MultiStages, NYC); Antigone X (Cal Rep; published by NoPassport Press); Bone Dry (Jungle Theatre); and The Chisera (Palm Beach Dramaworks’ New Year/New Play Festival). Her first full-length play, The Death of a Miner, premiered at the Women’s Project, followed by Candy & Shelley Go to the Desert. She is one of the authors of the documentary theatre piece, Seven, which has been translated into 22 languages and produced in over 30 countries. Her operas with composer Guang Yang have been performed at White Snake Opera and as part of the Eurydice Found Festival. Current projects include a libretto for a cantata by composer Bruce Saylor and a commission for the Tennessee Shakespeare Company’s American Page to American Stage Festival.
